Whether this is your first meeting with a photographer or the next one on the shortlist of choices, flying blind is never fun. For that reason, we think it’s important to give you guys a heads up on what to expect in our initial meeting.

First things first

Before anything else, thanks so much for considering working with us for your big day! You have a ton of choices, and we genuinely appreciate you guys thinking enough of us to come meet and go over the details surrounding your event. Our goal with our first meeting is to keep things straight-forward and easy. Don’t worry about putting on a tuxedo and gown – unless thats how you normally dress. 🙂 You will be coming into a laidback environment void of conference tables and spreadsheets.

Do I get a plus one?

We encourage you to come as a couple, and, if parents want to come, bring them as well. We have some super comfy couches in our studio and welcome anyone involved in your wedding day decision making.

How long will I be there?

Our initial meetings usually take between an hour and an hour and a half. That gives us time to cover our approach to wedding day, answer questions you might have, and ensure you get all the info needed to make your decision on our fit.

Inception

The two of you guys have known each other for a long time, and we are excited to hear about your story. Prior to delving into us, we want to hear about how you met, where you’re from, and how this whole thing came to be. It’s really hard to continue telling a story without knowing what happened up until that point; knowing your story as a couple gives us a good feel for what makes you guys unique, and helps us ensure your wedding day photos reflect that.

Curious about us?

Be sure to check out our About Us and FAQ to get some insight on things our couples are curious about. If there is anything not covered there, always feel free to reach out prior to our meeting or ask when we connect.

Logistics

After getting to know each other and hearing your story, it’s time to get into the details surrounding wedding day. That conversation generally starts with foundational info like guest count, wedding party size, tentative timelines, and thoughts on photo locations/aesthetics. Keep in mind this info doesn’t need to be 100% set in stone. We totally get that wedding planning is a fluid process; timelines, guest count, and other details are tentative until all the pieces come together. This info helps us get a better understanding of what would be needed to adequately document your event and gives us an opportunity to make suggestions that may make your timeline flow better.

Our approach & process

With insight surrounding your back story and plans for wedding day, we can give you a full rundown of how we can add to the experience of wedding day. In doing so, we can showcase our planning process, day-of approach, and suggestions on what package(s) would best align expectations with the end product.

What coverage do we need?

After hearing the details surrounding your wedding and keying in on what’s important to you guys, we will be happy to suggest what coverage and package(s) would be the best fit.

Prints, Albums, & Wall Art

We have tons of samples of all the cool ways to display your photos in-studio. If you have interest in any of those things, we would also suggest checking out our Product Highlights prior to stopping in.

A second proposal

Having spent all that time getting to know us, sharing your story, and hearing about what we can add to wedding day, you are now officially armed with all the info needed to make your decision. Don’t worry about being put on the spot, though; we understand it’s a big decision and warrants a ride-home conversation at least. We will let you know if another couple reaches out with interest in your same date. Though we can’t guarantee your date wont get booked while you make your decision, we can guarantee your date won’t disappear without you knowing about it first. Should you decide you are ready to add us to the wedding day team, we can easily walk you through the booking process in studio as well.
